The Daffodil is popularly known as one of the emblems of Wales but it is said that it became so quite by accident. The Welsh translation for the word leek, the original national emblem is "Cenhinen", while the Welsh for Daffodil is "Cenhinen Pedr" or "Peters' Leek".Over the years the translations became confused and the Daffodil was adopted as the second emblem of Wales.
